Spring Cleaning

Hey, it's that time again! Spring is the time of year where we all take time to get into the parts of the house that we normally don't clean, like behind wall units, up in the attic and even the garage. Getting in those tight places and actually being effective cleaning, all depends on the type of vacuum you have.

The All New NuTone Central Vac CV400

We're glad to be introducing the new NuTone CV400 Compact Central Vacuum today! This new model from NuTone is the perfect fit for any apartment, condo or home up to 2,200 sq. ft. This is a compact unit, small enough to fit in a laundry room or even a closet, but that doesn't mean it skimps on features. It also has an easy to remove dirt bucket and an illuminated power-on indicator.
The CV400 operates quietly when it's mounted near your living area and virtually sound free when mounting elsewhere like a basement or garage.

The vacuum also features a powerful 120-volt motor, durable dent-resistant 6-gallon polymeric debris bucket with easy on/off snap release, and an intake port. It's also got a 2 year warranty.

Now Presenting...

The long awaited video is here! Back in December we announced our partnership with Drainvac for a segment on TLC's show Designing Spaces. A little more than a month later, our segment about Going Green with Central Vacuums aired across the nation on both the TLC and WeTV networks!

It was a huge success and we couldn't be more proud of it, and we're able to announce to you today that we're expanding the audience onto the internet! That's right, if you missed the show when it aired on national TV, you can view it at any time on our YouTube channel.

New Stuff!

Sorry we haven't gotten to blogging in a while, we have a load of good testimonial feedback from people which we're eventually going to put up. We're also proud to announce 2 new members of our staff, Mike and Denell. We picked them because they've got a good strong work ethic, which is hard to find these days.

Mike will be helping us out in the packing and shipping department. He's been working for UPS for a while as well so his experience and expertise will help improve shipping speed. If he's good enough for UPS' strict standards, he's good enough for us!
Denell is one of the new lovely ladies in our office, helping answer phones and take orders among other things. It's a good thing she hopped on board with us because we've had a pretty big spike in business lately!
With this strong staff we can continue to serve our customers better than ever to meet the rising demand.

In other news, we talked in another past blog about NuTone's new CT700 power nozzle, well we've finally got them in stock ready to ship! Check them out here. There are also 2 new wands required to use the CT700, the CT170 and CT175 - the only difference is if you have a crushproof hose or a wire-reinforced hose. Lights, camera, action! It's been a long time in the making but the Thinking Green segment featuring Thinkvacuums and Drainvac is finally ready!

Introducing the NuTone CT700

We're proud to be introducing the all new NuTone CT700 Power Brush! As always, it provides exceptional cleaning with a fresh new look and greatly improved features.

It integrates powerful LED front-lighting for industry leading lighting performance. In addition to superior lighting, the CT700 features a swivel neck for easy maneuverability as well as LED carpet height indicators.

Head-to-head testing shows increased cleaning performance over the existing CT600, CT650 models, as well as competitor's offerings.

Performance features include exceptional soil removal, superior LED lighting, maximum maneuverability and ease of use, along with a four position height adjustment.

The CT700 will replace the current CT600 and CT650 power brush models.

In addition to the new power brush, we are also introducing new wants to accompany the CT700. The new CT170 (for use with 20-series hoses) and CT175 (for use with 15-series hoses) offer length adjustment capabilities and concealed cord management. Both CT170 and CT175 are used only with the CT700.

Dirty vacuums, and new vacuums!

Take a look at the motor to the left. This is a central vacuum we just received from a customer for repair. All of the white stuff covering it is plaster from construction dust. This particular vacuum was used in a brand new home, but the homeowners cleanup crew used the central vacuum instead of a shop vac, which is designed for this type of cleaning. There is a thick, solid layer of motor choking powder, which suffocated the motor and caused it to burn out. Typically, no central vacuum on the market can handle this type of fine powder. Most instruction manuals that come with the vacuum advise not picking up such fine powder, for this exact reason.

This particular problem was not caused by the homeowner, but by a cleanup crew worker who just used the vacuum assuming it would work just fine. Most manufacturers would not cover this under warranty because this is deemed abuse. It's sort of like running a brand new car with diesel fuel, it's not designed to work like that.

We called the manufacturer to help our customer out, and they could not cover it under warranty at all. We ended up putting a new motor in ourselves at our cost, just to accommodate a customer. That's the kind of customer service you can expect when you're a customer of Thinkvacuums, we go above and beyond whenever we can.

Getting off the topic of central vacuums, we just added some new updated Sanitaire vacuum models to our website! These are updates to well known models, the Sanitaire SC5845-B and the famous Sanitaire SC9180-B. Personally, I think these models look very sleek, the new design and color make it very visually appealing. Sanitaire is coming out with updates to other well known models in the future as well, and if you want to stay informed on the latest news bookmark our blog and our Twitter as well.
